Quilt of Valor Star Block Contest

Here are the instructions for the Star Block Contest for Quilts of Valor


 

 

Star Block Instructions

 

Finished 9" block (square block to 9 1/2")

 

Patriotic fabrics (reds, blues, golds) with white, ecru or light tan backgrounds.

 


 

Cut the following for each block:

 

From a background of white, ecru or light tan solid or print cut:

A = 4 -  2 3/4" squares

B = 1 - 6" square (x)

 

From a patriotic color (red, blue, gold print or tonal) cut:

C = 4 - 3 1/2" squares (/)

D = 1 - 5" square

 

Note:  The center "D" square can not only a plain square, but you may make it a 4 patch, 9 patch, square in a square, quarter square unit, etc.

 

Make as many star blocks as you would like.  When you bring them in, please pin a paper to them with your name attached or bag them with your name on the bag.  I will keep track of the number of blocks you turn in.  You will have from now thru the end of February to make your blocks.

The person turning in the MOST blocks will receive a patriotic fabric bundle.
